    The fishing up here isn't as easy as you guys think at the moment. We had 3 trips where we got only one or 2 snapper worth keeping each time this month. We have been putting in some big hours looking for locations and trying them at different tides and times. Even different locations on the same beach. What it has come down to is just using basic common sense. I've also been casting reasonably big from the beach. Anywhere from 60m to 150m from shore with a big cast and small clipped down baits.

    From the rocks we have used a truckload of berley. As much as we can carry to be fair. We are averaging 10 hours per week, often in one day. The fish are there once we find them, but the ground work is starting to pay off. I also heard of a few decent fish caught yesterday around Kerikeri from the shore.
