Posted by Tina Marie The day of my surgery, I was sick to my stomach several times and I was having my period (Ha! Lucky me!!). I cried and cried while my husband sat there with me (I didn't cry in front of my son or mom). Pat, whatever you do, don't give up. What kind of surgery are you having? What stage? I cannot think of anymore invasive questions right now. Run, yell, scream, cry, knock over a trash can, eat cake and cookies and candy (that's what I did. I also ran 4 miles, it kinda calmed me down). If you don't want a family member there ask a friend. You need someone to take care of you. Be good to yourself. Tina Marie

I felt the same way you did Pat. My husband, son and mother were there. My daughter does not drive and goes to school 75 miles away. I was very glad that my husband and son were there (my mom is a horse of a different color).
