Man I remember those camel saddles! I was going to buy one of those (maybe 2) but thought what the hell would I do with camel saddles in Massachusetts??? Did buy some dishes in Aden, and a tape recorder! When we hit Ireland I bought a lot of scrimshaw, and Irish linen, and candles. For my Mom, she is 2nd generation Irish! Was Phil Farmer an electrician? Some how that's what my old mind say's! Leo Bowzer was the MM1 when I was in the AER along with James Warren. Chief Mayo was in charge under Mr Keas then a LTJR and became a full lieutenant a few months before I left the ship! I remember a black fellow named Morgan! A BT I think! I'm trying to remember the guy that was in the A gang that used to chew tobacco, and cut up old cigars! Always a real mess!..? I think now that I think of it Morgan transferred to core man??? Your last email just arrived, yar I knew Robbie! he was a nice kid! Do you remember the electrician that was in the AER, when we went on our shakedown cruise from Phili he was sick to death, and passed out on the deck for the whole week? the part that was funny was, he was a sea scout and bragged about his badges and stuff before the lines were cased off from Phili, and when that happened, he immediately got sick, and passed out for a week! They took him off the ship when we hit port! He was running the AER electrical board, and the replacement had to work over his passed out body on the deck! I felt bad, but I wasn't in charge, so there he lay for a week! The Chief Core man had to take him to sick bay because he was dehydrated
