Hey Robert
In the last month or two I've emailed and been emailed by some of the guys I've served with on the Norris! We have been remembering old time, ports we spent time exploring Etc; I served aboard the Norris from Fram in Phili (61 to the end of a Med Cruise, 63) to the Cuban blockade The Robert Bence that you served with is the same Robert Bence I served with in the Aft Engine Room! I was a MM3 and worked there for my ture on the Norris! I was friends with James Warren MM1 also from the AER, Dave Cupples, MM3 forward engine room, Freeborn MM1, and Hines MM2 I'm sure that some of those guys may have moved onto other ships by the time you served on the Norris! I truly loved that ship, and the men I served with! Seems like we never tied up, we were always on the go! Never a dull moment on that ship. We won many awards during my time with her! At Gitmo we earned the E with hash marks, engineering E and a litany of others I have forgotten, all that to say that, that ship was special, and it made us feel special to serve on her! I remember almost everyday I spent on her! What were some of your adventures aboard her? Hope to talk some more, Rich
