Thanks for the 'Throttle' comments John. Man, it's all coming back. I do Remember the Kennedy ass. and sending food through the hatch opening.
That's the problem with being on General Quarters, all locked down and you never knew what was going on outside.
Same thing with the Cuban Missile Crisis, but finally I could not stand 'not knowing' anymore and got a quick relief so I could run back and get
my trusty Yashica 33mm camera, climb above the hanger deck and took those Russian ship pictures. Never had a telephoto lens and look back now
to see how fortunate it was to get some of the other crew's head's in the frame for scale and reference. The 8 x 10's I made from the slides
are fading now a little bit, but still a great conversation piece.
