My message was directed at the employees in a rut...the lazy complaining ones. They are part of the problem, and not the solution. As for unions as a whole, certainly they have a point. A small one. If you are a good employee, and work hard, without a union, you might well be earning more than you are now. Quite alot more even. A union places a ceiling on what you can earn, and regardless of how lazy and stupid the guy next to you is, if he's been around as long, he'll be earning the same. As for job security with no union around, heres what would happen: They would fire the useless employees. If you're a good employee, (as from your posting, you seem to be) you would definately be kept on in the longterm! There are lots of companies without unions with longstanding employees that are treated with great respect and good wages and benefits. Heres a crazy utopian idea: What if there were no managers? Only team leaders? And they worked right along side you to accomplish the goal? They carried beer, they helped drive trucks. They treat you with respect, and everyone works together on everything. And guess what? There could be bonuses for performance! And promotions for people! And those idiots who you work next to would be left behind. Something to think about brothers and sisters. If you're smart and hardworking, what do you really need the union for? Why would the company fire its good employees? It wouldn't! Just some food for thought.

My message was not directed at you. A positive attitude at work? I love it! I bring the same thing and do my best every day.
The only reason it would is if there was a horrible economic downturn or something of that nature. And guess what? You're precious union can't protect you from that either!
