As I read all this banter on this site, I can't
help wondering how people can make decisions that affect eveyone's lives, when they really have not got a clue to what is going on.
One such person writes " all we can hope for is we vote no on the next contract ". This was not word for word but do this person realize he has not seen an offer yet? I realize that it most likely will not be a good one, but has this person been privy to negotiations that no one else has? I think not
As for the de-certifying of the U.F.C.W., I believe if the Brothers and Sisters want this, then so be it. What I do not want is to be de -cetifying without a contract firmly in place.
Even if the deal is only a year long, lets get one in place BEFORE we even think of this. I believe there are people out there promising the world to temps and new hires about huge raises that will never come. Any person that promises
you such raises or employment is an out and out
liar or has another colour sky in their world.
I do not know who this individual is but he is wrong!
He is wrong with his timing, he is wrong with his promises, and I do not believe even he realizes what the potential of danger he will put the membership in.
Now before he starts calling me a company scab or whatever, I am not saying sign the first offer we recieve, that has been a mistake we made in the past. Let us get something we can live with on paper, if we can't, then go out and use your right to strike until you have an agreement, then proceed with the de-certifying if the membership wants it.
One other note, who is pushing CAW. I suggest you read up on what " Buzz " has done for ALL
his members, you may think twice.
