Completed the update to 2009 (Spring) RC-2 and many things were indeed broken. Grub2 did not pick up my Vista partition, nor did RC-2 detect my ethernet card, leaving me without an internet connection, so I am in the process of re-installing Mandriva 2008.1 Powerpack edition. I'm writing this post with my laptop.
