Yes, even though Mandriva wanted the upgrade via urpmi tested, it broke some things in my Mandriva system when I did it. The upgrade via urpmi is supposed to be working flawlessly when 2009 Spring is finally released, which should be soon, since RC-2 is the final release candidate.
