This was the first time I tried downloading an iso to burn to CD. The download went OK, and the ck5sum matched. I burned it in K3B with verification turned on but it kept crashing before verification. I tried 5 times, and the best I got was to look at Mandriva 2009's splash screen (it IS a doozer, though :^>). They all crashed with many I/O errors and just about every block on the CD 'unable to read' and finally 'kernel panic'.
Guess I'll have to wait also. Sheeeesh! Disappointment! However, I didn't destroy the iso in frustration just in case someone has some ideas; I still have a couple of blank CDs left.
