Somebody on the cooker forum pointed me toward some howto material for KDE 4.1 so I can start doing better than hit and miss.

In the end, I'm thinking KDE 4 will be a lot better than KDE 3.5, although it will take getting used to. So far I had just sorta skimmed over the top; now I have to actually dig into it and learn it.
