Apparently it wiped at least part of my file system. On reboot it says it can't find: /dev /proc, /sys, and numerous sub-directories off those.
So, tomorrow I'll reinstall off the ISO I burned, do all the updates agaqin, and see what I get.
This is a pain!!!!!!!!!!
