I have several questions on torrents:
Last night I downloaded a torrent (PCBSD 7.0.2) with ktorrent. It completed some time this morning, and ktorrent's main page now shows I'm seeding 32% (526.6 MB out of 1.58 GB). The up speed is usually between 1 KB/s and 10 KB/sec, occasionally going up to 50-55 KB/s. However: Ktorrents status page shows no seeding and nothing available to seed; the files page shows no files going in either direction; and webseeds, peers, and chunks, show no one around.
???? Why is the upload usually so slow, but it still interferes bigtime with surfing or other downloads? And have I really uploaded 529.7 MB to somebody? Who? Am I actually seeding, or just think I am? :^>
The torrent download WAS much faster than http or ftp. It started out showing 10 1/2 hours DL time ahead; an hour later it showed 8 hours 10 minutes. Annother hour and it showed 5 hours 15 minutes remaining :^). But the average speed was around 50-54 KB/s all the way through, sometimes faster but frequently slower.
That doesn't add up in my peanut brain, how it's the same speed but in 2 hours it downloads 5 hours worth of stuff???
I've looked at some howtos and man pages but they don't explain this.
