Since Macs are based on Unix, they do things similarly to Linux, so I should feel at home with a Mac. I would have gotten a Mac sooner, but as you know, Macs are more expensive than PCs, so that was a barrier for me in getting one, but thanks to a nice Federal income tax refund, I was able to purchase a MacBook and am anxiously awaiting its delivery! I've pretty much already decided that my next desktop computer will also be a Mac.
If I want to, I can dual boot the MacBook with Windows using the included Boot Camp software, but I douobt I will do that since I desire to migrate away from Windows.
