A little problem

Ok, I've got it running (the downloaded pre-made VMware image of PC-BSD) .... "somewhat" but obviously, it needs VMware tools installed. The problem is, I can't install anything without a root password. I don't know what it is, since I never installed the OS myself. I've checked on forums and the consensus seems to be that there IS NO default password!~ So, like ..... how did the guy who created this image ... manage to install the entire thing without putting in a password? And if he did ....... what the heck might it be? -Vince
