So your analysis more or less parallels the others: Microsoft is getting old and has had its day. Windows 7 might be "fairly widely accepted" (but that's a far far cry from how earlier efforts were received), and "might" improve a little bit on XP. Question is... Is that small improvement worth it to enough people to keep MS profitable? And having to buy Win 7 just to get XP... Ermmh??? That last has kind of a funny sound to it, no?
So Bill got himself promoted to admiral, and transferred off, and left Steve as captain of a sinking ship? ^_^ It's said that there's a fine art in knowing when to jump.
