Dave, I decided to go ahead and give LinuxMint 7 a look, and while it is very nice, there are some issues with it. Ubuntu 9.04 upon which Mint 7 is based correctly identified my monitor as an Acer, whereas Mint 7 couldn't and listed it as "unknown." MintNanny in Mint 7 does not work. There's no way to install my BST ttf Hebrew and Greek fonts in Mint 7. On the plus side, Mint 7 boots quite fast and is very sharp-looking, and I like the menu layout.
