There's now a more recent beta of Opera 10 (build 4440). It features something called 'Unite', which puts a web server inside the browser so files and things can be shared directly from the browser to other browsers. They access a url for the browser's server and can share a folder on my HD, copying from it but not changing or adding anything. There's also a chat feature, and a picture gallary. The downloader doesn't have to be Opera; it can be any browser.
It works in Linux, Mac, and Windows.
Supposedly.
Using Opera in Linux in the other machine, I can view files but can't download anything. The download starts, but stops after 90 bytes.
Well, it's an alpha app, but it does show they are trying to innovate. It's an interesting concept: file sharing which doesn't depend on someone else's server! I like that idea.

Simply USING Linux is a breeze. MESSING with Linux is a learning experience!
