Some security info I picked up:
See Browserspy to see how much info your browser tells the website you click on. An interesting one to check is "cookies" in the left-hand menu. Astounding!!! (Mine shows zero cookies... because I took precautions). Check all the way down. You're NAKED out there!!!
For Firefox 3.5+: Mozilla has introduced some things which are very questionable for your privacy.
Geolocation: Your computer will tell the GPS satellites where you are. Besides suddenly starting to receive offers to meet girls in your neighborhood :^>, who knows what "they" will do with that info!!
To turn it off: In Firefox, go to the url bar, type in 'about:config' (without the ' '). Then type in or go to 'geo.enabled'; toggle it off.
Forward referrals: Your browser tells the next page where you were last. You might not want it to do that. At the url bar, type in 'about:config', go to 'network.http.sendReferralHeader'; click on it, click 'modify', make the digit be 0 (zero).
You'll be a little safer; little is better than none.
