You're running into a problem of having no CD burning program included with Vista.
To be honest, I gave up saving stuff sequentially/incrementally on CD's YEARS AGO already. If I'm going to save anything to CD's today, I do a single dump of about 650 mb at once, close the CD and that's IT.
If you want to save stuff incrementally, everyone NOW ...... expects you to use an external usb device like a small external hard drive or a thumb drive.
Thumb drives are pretty cheap now. I got 2 4gb sticks last Christmas for $10! Just think, that's 12 CD's and you can write and delete to your heart's content and carry them with you in your purse or around your kneck. *Try* carrying a CD around your neck!!~
And like ........ a small usb hard drive is about the size of a cigarette case and can hold about 250 gb worth of data! Now THAT is like having 380 CD's full of stuff!
Both of these mediums are W-A-Y faster than CD's too. So -please .........
Consider DROPPING your determination to make CD's work for you. CD's were always flaky at the best of times.
Use CDs and DVDs ONLY for write-once-single-dump storage ......... if you really MUST use them.
