A thumb drive -IS- quite handy. I have one that I don't use much because it's easier to transfer stuff from one machine to the other. But they ARE much easier/faster than CDs, and very easy to take stuff down to Church. And a usb hard drive works just like an internal hard drive except that you can pull it loose and store it safely... like you can with CDs, but much faster and more flexibly.
