If you had Firefox installed before, the updated version will adopt your old configuration files and, assuming you had cookies disabled before, they are still disabled now. Do you want to do a complete deletion of Firefox and all its configs, and then a complete fresh install of Version 3.5.2, you will see what I'm talking about.
I encountered the same thing: two of my Firefox 3.5.2 installs had cookies disabled, and two others had it like I described; finally I realized the difference was that two were updates and the other two were fresh installs. I'll encounter it again in the virtual machine I'm using now: DreamLinux 3.5 in Virtualbox, with a brand new install of Firefox 3.5.2. But now I know how to cope.
