And yes, it IS a dirty trick. By default, third party cookies are enabled again.

FFox developers must be under a LOT of pressure from advertisers to keep those damned 3rd party cookies turned on.

I purged FFox from a VM and scrubbed the registry and then reinstalled brand new. You're right; the default is a virtually nothing page insofar as control is concerned.
