These would be very handy I think, especially for someone who wants to try out something like Mandriva Cooker. Then, tomorrow, when it breaks :^), reinstall from the remaster. Or, use it to make custom Linux distros for friends or family members.
My solution is diffrerent because my setup is different. I run the new distro in Virtualbox with my data files duplicated in the host's partition and in my laptop 'production machine'. But I have read about using remastersys (or similar, since remastersys works only on debian-based distros) to make a custon ISO file which I can retain and avoid much of the updates when Cooker breaks and I reinstall.
I wonder if windows has anything like this? I googled, but either I don't know the magic search terms or it's not there.

The nice thing about Windows is - It does not just crash, it displays a dialog and lets you press "OK" first.
