Well, PC/OS installed and updated even more easily then Mint. It ran privoxy automatically, played flash videos, and played on-line music out of the box with no configuration or package-chasing whatsoever. It's Gnome, but it's the easiest Gnome I ever worked with; I could live with this Gnome (I think - maybe :^>; there is KDE 3.5.10 available, but I'm trying to wean myself from it).
The only thing I have against it so far is that it's based on LST versions of Ubuntu only. The latest Firefox is 3.0.14, for example. Haven't checked yet, but there might be something I can do about that. If yes, and assuming there's nothing nasty hidden in the woodpile, then this is a serious contender for my favorites list. It could replace Mint.
And I'm downloading Chakra, which is a spin off from Arch. I didn't get along with Arch, but maybe a spin off will work like Mint did for Ubuntu or Antix has for Debian. Funny how the spin offs work better than their base distros?! I spotted Chakra on today's Distrowatch list.
