Chakra is....... different
. They've laid out howto's for installing it to usb sticks and 'from' a hard drive, but nothing about installing 'to' a hard drive.
The initial parts of the installation are very simple. Partitioning was hard to figure out because I couldn't see the whole partitioner but I didn't know that at first (the VB window is too small; it shows the top and bottom of the partitioner but you have to find the middle). It was hard to find the place to name a mount point, and to format the new partitions. Partitioning seems a little hard in most distros; in Chakra there's not a default partitioning option so it's harder at that point than others. After that, it installed the packages by itself. It allowed me to enable root login during the configurations :^).
The update was almost instantaneous. Wow!! I've installed the Virtualbox Guest Additions but the clipboard sharing won't work. Even after applying the fix, it won't load the clipboard sharing module. Research needed! Otherwise, Opera seems to work snappier in Chakra than in some other distros, and the configurations are going well.
