If you recall, Dave, Hardy is LTS (Long Term Support) as opposed to Jaunty which Sunbird is based on. Remember, having the latest is not always the best. Many prefer stability over having the latest, and to be honest, Jaunty is full of bugs that have yet to be squashed, and apparently aren't going to be squashed since Canonical is busy with 9.10. So, in all truthfullness, Hardy is the better and logical choice to base the operating system on. Hardy is also what Imagicos 2009 and a few others are based on.
