of "Linuces" on my machine over the years. I just don't care for them. The graphics are too watery and the icons too big etc.
I've also run Mac OS-X and I WILL say that I can comprehend why people would like Mac: it is just very clean-looking and efficient and simple to run.
But... I'm used to Windows XP and I like it. It's like a bicycle: you get used to your own and you become so intimately familiar with it, you can toss it around in all directions without ever losing your balance.~
If I found Linux to be or to have anything I actually LIKE, I would naturally ....... busy myself with it.
The registry? Hmmm, well ....... I'm not exactly sure how Linux handles its own but it's kind of like when you put a Linux live CD into your computer and boot it. You know how it runs through a kind of "list" with thousands of green lines? Well, that's where it's assembling itself right before your very eyes. The registry in Windows is just that; it's a library of instructions for executions of everything.
Read all about it here...

It's the command center of the operating system, listing instructions for itself, most programs and hardware.
