yeah thats the guy. Great short stories, and novels. He wrote a novel about the making of Barfly, which he wrote the screenplay for, and was autobiograghical as most of his work is. The novel is called Hollywood and it's great. He is more known for his poetry which is also good, but in my opinion not as good as his prose.
