I just thought I would throw the reality check out there concerning the age makeup of the EA PW team - this EA group is a great team - but one that is mostly (much more than most/any other PW team) at this level of greatness b/c of the 7th graders older/lighters playing on this team as compared to any others (I know there are some very good non o/l players.......) It isn't taking away from how very good this team is - but the 7th graders make a huge difference. In most areas, these athletes are playing for their middle school. The talent clearly isn't any better, or these guys would be cleaning up with district/city level championships at the higher levels - which they clearly aren't. I don't want to hear about the programs, coaching etc...at the higher levels. The bottom line is that there are a large amount of guys who didn't want to play with the bigger kids at middle school - which is cool - but you have a huge amount of chest-thumping by the fans/parents as if they are some different level of athlete compared to the other teams. If I took a set of athletic kids around this age they most certainly would own the grade below. Win anything at the next level and it will be real. This team is very good, but if any other team or league fielded a batch of top flight o/l 7th graders on their team, it would be a very different picture. Please stop comparing apples to oranges. They are very, very good - but without the older kids/lighters, they wouldn't be nearly as strong. Sit them all out and see what happens. And before you pull a muscle trying to respond - I know it is well within the rules to have any amount of older/lighters on a team. I just wanted to make clear the typically very stark differences between the kids at this age and keep it all in perspective.
Nice promo -
