That the Black Chaps could make it with two D1 teams is a credit to their program. And then there is the once in every 20 year Yellow Jacket team. LCP Lions vs. Westlake Black Lions offense versus Chaps defense Edge Lions. Lions can spread out and attack the Chaps defense. LCP Timberwolves vs. East Austin Yellow Jackets Twolves offense versus Jacket defense Edge Jackets. Twolves scored 8 on SWA in the playoffs, and the Jackets hit harder. Twolves scored 6 on WL Black the last week of the season, and the Jackets are faster. Bodog Extra Points A poster named Super writes, Does CenTex Pop Warner and/or its Board randomly provide the refs for playoff games OR does each individual association hosting a game (for this week Westlake Pop Warner and EA Pop Warner) provide its own association specific refs? Just curious how that works. Thank you for your question and the other kind words. The home team is required to supply referees for games. There are still too many games going on with playoffs on all levels and bowl games. The referees have to come from TASO- Texas Association of Sports Officials. The home team can request certain staffs based on availability. Centex will provide the referees for the championship games. Bodog would like to expand on your question to address complaints often heard. There is no Pop Warner rating system for officials to insure the best performing officials for playoff games. Bodog hears people complain, but the officials regardless of location appear to be objective and make calls against home teams. The TASO officials also referee high school football and are often trying to work into higher levels. It is highly unlikely any official would jeopardize his career to favor one Pop Warner team over another. While some are better than others, the overall quality of the officials assigned to Pop Warner games has improved over recent years. Professional and college games have seven referees, and sometimes they miss calls or make bad calls. Pop Warner games have three referees. An e-mailer sent Bodog the following letter: I am Mr. Liu Yan a transfer supervisor operations in investment section in Bank of China Ltd,Hong Kong.I have a obscured business suggestion for you. Before the U.S and Iraqi war our client General Mohammed Jassim Ali who was with the Iraqi forces and also business man made a numbered fixed deposit for 18 calendar months, with a value of Nineteen millions Five Hundred Thousand United State Dollars only in my branch. Upon maturity several notice was sent to him, even during the war early this year. Again after the war another notification was sent and still no response came from him. We later find out that the general and his family had been killed during the war in bomb blast that hit their home. After further investigation it was also discovered that General Mohammed Jassim Ali did not declare any next of kin in his official papers including the paper work of his bank deposit. And he also confided in me the last time he was at my office that no one except me knew of his deposit in my bank. So, Nineteen millions Five Hundred Thousand United State Dollars is still lying in my bank and no one will ever come forward to claim it. What bothers me most is that according to the to the laws of my country at the expiration 5 years the funds will revert to the ownership of the Hong Kong Government if nobody applies to claim the funds. Against this backdrop, my suggestion to you is that I will like you as a foreigner to stand as the next of kin to General Mohammed Jassim Ali so that you will be able to receive his funds. Please endeavor to observe utmost discretion in all matters concerning this issue. Once the funds have been transferred to your nominated bank account we shall share in the ratio of 60% for me, 40% for you. Kind Regards As the readers can see, Bodog has become next of kin for General Ali and will soon be rolling in the dough if you get Bodogs drift. Sounds almost too good to be true. What are the odds? Oh wait, Bodog is an odds maker. Nevermind. Depending on how soon Mr. Yan gets Bodog the cash, the Bodog Staff may be off to buy an island down next to our old pal Kenny Chesney in the Caribbean. We may have to catch the Centex Championship game on the dish. Stay thirsty my friends. Play Hard. Have Fun. Bodog. Centex D1 PW Final Four
9:00 AM at Road Runner Stadium
This year the annual LCP-WL grudge match is for the rights to the championship game and coaches calendar centerfold. These two teams dont like each other. The Chaps have dominated this match-up in recent years.
Chaps offense versus Lions defense Edge Chaps. Chaps powerful offensive line will manhandle the Lions .
Special teams Edge Chaps. Chaps kicker can nail the 2 pointers which is a huge advantage in a close game.
Intangibles Edge Chaps. Chaps playing at home are the more physical team with fewer MPR players.
The early bird gets the worm. 29-7 Chaps.
7:00 PM at the Hive
First ever meeting between the LCP Timberwolves and the East Austin Yellow Jackets. Bodog tip of the cap goes to the nice job by the Twolves coaches for bringing this group from D2 JPW newbies to D1 PW Semi-finalist.
Jacket offense versus Twolves defense Edge Jackets. Too much speed. Too many weapons.
Special teams Edge Jackets. Kick-off returns against the Jackets are a test of courage. Jackets kicker can get the 2 pointers.
Intangibles Edge Jackets. Twolves will present a new challenge for the Jackets with their option offense and quality coaching. Jackets will be swarming at home at the hive under the lights.
Come for the game and stay for the after party. 28-0 Jackets.
"Good day Mr. Bodog,
Mr. Liu Yan"
