Posted by Bodog Sports Note to coaches: Westlake Black, Timberwolves, and EA all regularly convert 2 pointers. SWA beat WL Black with a field goal. Bodog’s advice for next year is to go recruit a soccer player and hire Steve Hoffman. No coincidence that these are Bodog’s top four coaching staff’s for 2007; they leave no coaching stone unturned. LCP Lions vs. Westlake Black • Lions offense versus Chaps defense – Edge Lions. Lions can spread out and attack the Chaps defense. LCP Timberwolves vs. East Austin Yellow Jackets • Twolves offense versus Jacket defense – Edge Jackets. Twolves scored 8 on SWA in the playoffs, and the Jackets hit harder. Twolves scored 6 on WL Black the last week of the season, and the Jackets are faster. Stay thirsty my friends. Play Hard. Have Fun. Bodog. 9:00 AM at Road Runner Stadium
This year the annual LCP-WL grudge match is for the rights to the championship game and coaches calendar centerfold. These two teams don’t like each other. The Chaps have dominated this match-up in recent years.
o Didn’t happen. Entire game was played on the Lions side of the field.
• Chaps offense versus Lions defense – Edge Chaps. Chaps powerful offensive line will manhandle the Lions .
o Check
• Special teams – Edge Chaps. Chaps kicker can nail the 2 pointers which is a huge advantage in a close game.
o Check.
• Intangibles – Edge Chaps. Chaps playing at home are the more physical team with fewer MPR players.
o Check
• The early bird gets the worm. 29-7 Chaps.
o Actual: All Chaps all day, 32-0. 2007 Coaches Centerfold bragging rights go to the Hills.
7:00 PM at the Hive
First ever meeting between the LCP Timberwolves and the East Austin Yellow Jackets. Bodog tip of the cap goes to the nice job by the Twolves coaches for bringing this group from D2 JPW newbies to D1 PW Semi-finalist.
o Check, with props to the determined Twolves for getting two offensive TD’s on the mighty Jackets.
• Jacket offense versus Twolves defense – Edge Jackets. Too much speed. Too many weapons.
o Check.
• Special teams – Edge Jackets. Kick-off returns against the Jackets are a test of courage. Jackets kicker can get the 2 pointers.
o Check, with props to the Twolves for hitting two two’s too.
• Intangibles – Edge Jackets. Twolves will present a new challenge for the Jackets with their option offense and quality coaching. Jackets will be swarming at home at the hive under the lights.
o Check
• Come for the game and stay for the after party. 28-0 Jackets.
o Actual: 37-16.
