Sideliner, I have to disagree with your statements. I can and will give the Westlake coaching staff credit for their adjustments and motivating their boys for the playoff game. But, your observation and opinion of the first game are wrong. There were no penalties that effected the outcome of the first game. Now the second game that's a different story. One roughing the passer on a 3rd down of the Westlake scoring drive.(questionable) A illeagal contact on the cornerback going for a pass that was underthrown by five yards which the CB caught on the bounce.(Westlake receiver didn't know the ball was in the air, 4th down play) A 4th down roughing the passer call. I asked one of the E.A. coaches why was it roughing the passer, he said the ref said the tackler didn't take more than one step before hitting the QB, drove the QB to the ground. The illeagal contact happend with about 7 mins. left in the game. If E.A. gets the ball back with 7 mins insted of 1min. the outcome may have been different. Now you tell me what penalty calls had an effect on the first game. Not crying over spilled milk just RESPONDING to your statements.
