Saying that, I do miss the takeaway restaurants in London. They were a real step above what one finds in Glasgow. Theres's not really a good kebab shop here and there are some awful kebab shops. Never saw a bad one in London. The worst one in London was literally better than the best one in Glasgow.
And there are relatively few restaurants to choose from. In London, you were overwhelmed with options. In Glasgow, I pretty much know what the options are. And if I have a bad experience with one, it's a real blow. Crossing a takeaway off your list really reduces your options. In London, you can write a place off and still have 300 to choose from.
Opening times is another thing. You can go for breakfast at any takeaway and you can also go there for late night dining. In Glasgow, a lot of places don't open until 4.00 pm or later. And a lot of places are closed by 10.00 pm. It's crazy.
Even in the small town that I lived in, 20 years ago, the place was open until midnight. But in Glasgow, places are closing at 10.00 pm. It's madness.
Let me see what places are open according to Just Eat (a site I no longer use, by the way). Well, it seems that there are only two more places that deliver to the London than deliver to the Glasgow address. I refuse to believe that, though.
Oh, here's another thing. Most of these places in London have free delivery. No places in Glasgow have free delivery. Although, I'm seeing a lot of these places in London now seem to have a delivery charge. Seems to be creeping in.
Only 6 places are delivering now (12.00 noon) in Glasgow but 80 are delivering in London.
Also, much more variety of food in London. You're not getting Brazilian food in Glasgow. Or Ghana cuisine. And none of the places are as seen on the X-Factor.
I really liked Topps Pizza. Too bad I had a bad delivery experience and stopped ordering from them. They're still around, though.
So...defecating. Food reviews. I've done all of the transcript work that I intend to do today. I've also eaten. I might just take a nap then. I'm way ahead of schedule. Plus, I woke up at like 10.00. I've done everything that I plan to do for the day within two hours. That's awesome.
