I was searching for a recipe for the famous sandwich Lister mentions, and happily discovered your site. Thanks for all the recipes you've provided, they all sound like fun. By the way, here's an American version of a vaguely similar sandwich:
Between the halves of a fresh sourdough roll set a nicely grilled or fried half pound beef patty with a slice of muenster melted on top, add liberal horseradish sauce, two large pepperoncini peppers, and a sliced hard boiled egg. Delicious! Will make you feel slightly Lister-ish.
