We are new home owners with lots of questions and not a clue about gardening. We live in Gloucester County. What zone are we in? I see that a lot of plants say that they are specific to zones. Thanks!!

Emily,
Welcome to the area!
To answer your question without the benefit of the zone map in front of me, I'd estimate you to be 7a with the possibility that you're touching up against 6b. If you're out in the sticks, you might want to err on the 6b side. If you're in a more suburban situation (lots of buildings & concrete), then go with 7a.
Other true New Jerseyans can speak with more authority on this.

I would tend to agree with Jim, in non coastal South Jersey, its pretty much a warm 6b, or a normal or cool 7a. But sometimes the plants don't read the books! But use those numbers as a guide, depending too much on zones can be bad and the best way is to judge what you see around in neighborhoods as well as in nurseries. Good luck!
Hi emily, we have many classes at the nursery, plant talks are free. Come down to walk in our display gardens. i can give you a tour if you give me some notice before you come. will try to answer your questions about plants. LK
