On the other hand - A'Fred the Shed' back street workshop can give excellent, honest service and value for money without pretty tiled workshop floors, coffee vending machines and a failed hairdresser doing her nails in reception.
As I posted before - I suspect a lot of the complaints recieved are generated by disgruntled dealership customers and those that have been the victims of 'over eager' fast-fit outlets ("Can I just point this out sir?").
Other consumer research shows that customers of independant garages are broadly satisfied with the treatment they recieve. The same cannot be said for the Main Dealers.
Just my two pennies worth.
