Both this post & the other one you initiated yesterday very eloquently put. Mr Mason appears to have given up on this forum, I would be very suprised if you found 1/6 of his members represented the independant motor trade, i.e independants who have chosen to join his "codes" rather than dealers who have been ushered in en masse by his paymasters.
I have seen Mr Mason on TV & engaged in discussion with him at essential diagnostics Watford where he quite clearly squirmed & bluffed & non answered the questions that I Tom & James Dillon among others raised. He clearly has a business idea & has the dealers organisation pushing him.
When talking to some of my customers they say we want clarity & honesty not codes! The image projected by Forte through the Good Garage Scheme is found by most motorists as more reassuring.
I feel that with Mr Mason being pushed into Parliament to try to get membership mandatory for MOT garages that we perhaps through the auspices of UKAT to petition the Transport Secretary & the relevant Department / Minister etc with our concerns over this.
Perhaps someone more eloquent than myself should draft a letter that we could all send on to the Dept & our local MP's - over to you tony !!!!
Regards Pete
