THE 24 semi-finalists of Top Technician have been narrowed down to just six, following an event held at the Delphi training centre in Warwickshire.
Most of the techs got to grips with the practical tests, which featured tricky problems on cars relating to body electrics, air conditioning and diesel systems. However it was a short written test that separated out the leaders of the pack.
In no particular order, the top six finalists are:
Lee Collins of Kwik Fit, Manchester
Gareth Edwards of Bangor Garage, Aberystwyth
Ainsley Mc Ewan, McEwan's Garage, Derby
Rafal Rosielewski at Crewe Volkswagen, Cheshire
Andrew West of Erme Valley Autos, Devon
Dan Wright of Clive Atthowe Tuning, Norwich
All six of them will go through to the finals, which are to be held at the Honda Institute in a few weeks’ time. Here, the technicians will face another set of challenges. The outcome of this will establish the identity of the winner and the runner-up – who will be revealed at Top Tech Live at Mercedes-Benz World, Brooklands on May 18th.
