In the trade mags there are articles suggesting the engine MIL is not a safety issue? surely it is
If the engine MIL is just put out for the test and then is comes back on the next day.......is this acceptable?
I have a friend that had a fault with his Vectra 2.2 diesel, when cruising down the motorway and on some occasions going to overtake the MIL came on and it went into limp, he had to pull onto the hard shoulder, stop the engine and restart to reset the MIL to be able to continue
It may not be a safety issue to the driver, but definitely to other road users who have to slow quickly to avoid him
