I used a few methods to find staff before,
General word of mouth, ie ask your local suppliers & their van drivers if they know of anyone.
Tell every one you know in the motor trade you are looking, word soon gets around.
Also had some success with Gumtree, its free so worth a go anyway.
Plenty of very quiet garages so they must be laying people off.
Cant help on the wages front as its very regional.
