Draining fuel tanks

Hi All
At the moment we use varying methods to drain contaminated fuel out of vehicles,and as always trying to think of a quicker and easier way to do it safely.
If only these vehicles had a drain bung there would be no problems.
So my question to you guys.
Would it be possible to drill a hole in the bottom of tank and reseal it somehow? being metal or plastic tanks.
Please Give it some thought.
