I think within 10 years vehicles will largely become disposable consumer item. There is a gross overcapacity in the vehicle manufacturing industry. We are just down the road from Trade Sales, their prices for new vehicles make it an uneconomic proposition to carry out major repairs on anything over about 6-7 yrs old apart from prestige marques. Hopefully I will be just about due to retire as vehicles become throwaway items. My daughter has just completed a degree in manufacturing engineering, but there is little demand for this skill in the UK so she has opted to work in marketing.
