Hi, I've been testing for some years now, I believe the test procedure and guide is well thought out and absoluteley nothing is left out. As you probably know there wont be many suspension bushes on a car that aren't split, and as they are rubber, are designed to move anyway, only if they are excessivley split or displaced will they have an adverse effect on brakes or steering. As for corrosion, it's very rare you'll find corrosion thats not within 30cm of a prescribed area.
The main criteria for testing I believe is, Is it within 30cm of a prescribed area? Is it excessive? Is it Caused by damage or corrosion?
I was told by the VI that a good mechanic/technician would make a bad mot tester, too safety concious I guess.
My only niggle is, corrosion within 30cm of a shocker mount(only if it's a telescopic) is a pass, because, if it becomes detatched would not affect brakes and steering? yet if the same shocker was excessivley leaking or not damping it would fail?????????? How's that then! Chris
