    hey up gunner

if you damaged your pms on your premises then it will be covered on your internal policy,i am led to believe that this will have no or very little effect on your policy as claims on the internal side of your policy dont carry a heavy risk factor.
ask your broker or insurance company direct!
i had a smash and grab break in last year to the value of 9k and my premium jumped 55% and i now pay the same as you and its due for renewal in december and its going up 18%.
so i have been looking around and found a few things out that may be of interest.

1.if you use a company at the moment that is happy with you security measures try and stay with them because as soon as you go on to the open market for insurance the goal posts move with regards to security measures and major costs for improved security are added to your dilemma.

2.most insurance companies allow a 3/4 mile radius on your premises for internal claims!this means that if you bump a car within this radius your claim can be made on your internal policy and NOT ON YOUR ROAD RISK POLICY therefore this claim has very little effect on your next renewal, hence we now have a 3/4 mile roadtest route!

3.if you store vehicles under your lifts at night and its crushed in the morning you have no chance of a claim as it is not covered my most companies full stop(and no they dont tell you this)hence all my bangers go under the lifts.

big long post as i feel better for it as i am trying to negotiate at the moment but no i am being shafted from both ends!

    hth simon
