a friend of mine has bought some equipment to decode radio's but it also reads and resets digital dashes. He can apparently read the eeproms and download the info to reprogram them if they have become scrambled.
I wonder if its as simple as this?.
Is this the same technology that could be used to take info from other components and put into new ones.
It seems most new ecu's and many other components come without programs so dealers have it all their way again for a while.
With the ever increasing computer based control units now on cars if we cannot replace them and have to keep using the dealer we might aswell send the repairs straight to them.
Does anyone know of companies selling this equipment
thanks
