Customer has just had his head seen to,(thats his car, not him) after blowing a gasket, car was picked up and ran ok, but was bad at starting, so he went back to the garage who then fitted a new temperature sender unit, as they said it was causing the glow plugs not to work, the glow plugs now work from cold, (I thought these only worked below 7 degrees or so) but when the customer went to pick up the car, the A.B.S. light and handbrake warning light were both on permanently with the ignition on, We read fault codes and got open circiut temp sender which is a permanent fault and would not erase and no comms with A.B.S. as it hasn't got it. so why should the light be stuck on. ?? I remember a post on xantia's about the same thing which turns out to be a faulty dash, we have disconnected the brake fluid reservoir to see if that was causing the problem but the lights still stop on. so has anyone seen this before, car is coming back in next week.
