Well Phil it's up to blokes like us to stand up and be counted. Refuse to deal with these companies until they come into the real world.

For instance the person who has taken out the policy should contact them first to check that their servicing / rules / regulations are all in order and inform them of the symptoms. Then they contact "US" and "WE" tell "THEM" What our rates are and how we will conduct the work required. We are the garages forking out small fortunes to keep up with technology, attending courses and studying while these bastards are telling us what we will recieve. What I would agree to is this.

    1) Primary diagnosis with an *
    2) Policy holder to check all is in order (My time is valuable)
    3) My rate is £39 normal and £46 diagnostic No argument take it or leave it.
4)The * is for the unexpected £ wise
5)Invoice will be faxed when job finished
    6) Expect return paperwork within 30 mins to confirm payment, cheque number, and conformation that it's in the post.

    Then I "Might" be reconsider.
