Hi Michael, a group of us used to go every year till 2 years ago. We usually went on the Thursday or Friday night. There are fields upon fields of camping areas right beside the circuit itself. We usually picked the site just past the main gates on the right hand side there is usually a fun fair on this site. They have a marquee with some excellent bands and discos. We usually take an old caravan and a couple of cars. There are no real restrictions to how you lay out your site so why not take the Astra in with you. A lot of people now take some plastic (scene of crime type) tape and put a few spikes in the ground and tape off your own area.
Don't expect too many campsite type luxuries though, this is just a field with a row of portaloos but you don't care once you have had a few beers.
