That is the point it is your own vehicle and You are vat registered!
The reason the insurance companies do this is, they CANNOT claim the VAT back on payouts to clients, But if the client is VAT registered they just pay you the net of the claim And you can claim it back the VAT in the normal way as long as you have a copy of the repair bill with the VAT element shown clearly on the invoice!
